Travel info
Participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements.
Recommended means of transport are by plane and by ship.
If you choose to fly, Zadar airport is some 10 km away from the city.
There are no regular international lines to Zadar but there is a flight to
and from Zagreb international airport twice a day, each day.
The bus from the airport leaves every 30 minutes, takes about 30 minutes to
get to the main bus terminal, and costs 20HRK (5 DM).
Zadar is an international shipping port. There is a ferry to and from Ancona (Italy) once a day and to and from Rijeka (Croatia) once a day. The ferry from Ancona to Zadar and back runs at following times:
Thursday, August 3rd, 23:00 from Ancona, arrives 6:15 in Zadar.
Friday, August 4th, 23:00 from Ancona, arrives 6:15 in Zadar.
Saturday, August 11th, 12:00 from Zadar, arrives 18:00 in Ancona.
From Zagreb you can also take a bus or train to Zadar
The buses, which are the better option, leave from the Zagreb main
bus station for Zadar at following times:
00:45, 04:30, 05:30, 06:00, 06:30, 07:00, 07:30, 08:00, 08:40, 10:00, 10:30,
11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30, 17:00,
19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 23:00, 23:30.
The price of the ticket is around 80 HRK.
There are two options for travel by train: one leaves at 15h from
Zagreb Central station, takes you to Knin, and then you have to change trains.
The other one takes you directly to Zadar, and it leaves at 21:14 from Zagreb.
The price is:
one-way ticket: 57 HRK 2nd class, 67 HRK 1st class
return ticket: 92 HRK 2nd class, 102 HRK 1st class
Please inform the Organising Committee in advance of your arrival details (time and means of transportation). That way we can arrange to pick you up at the airport-ferry port-railway station.
